Rajdhani

Last week I was on a 2-day whirlwind work trip to Delhi(or Daheli for the northerners). To begin with ,I chose the Sarkari carriers to transport me to the Rajdhani( whatever was wrong with me!) The flight scheduled for 9 am actually took off at 10 am as the inflight captain incharge pleaded "due to technical problems with the toilets at the rear end....our engineers are attending..we regret the delay."

On air there was a foul smell emanating from the rear end and no one complained( probably being used to this). My seat being only third from the rear, I was squirming with discomfort and cursing those engineers. Anyways engineers are not trained to be janitors!

I was famished but didnt feel like touching the breakfast or anything coming from the rear end. The cabin temperature was appropriately set lower than usual to cool our tempers! Just when I was hoping for a cup of hot beverage to soothe my throat and defreeze my fingers, our good-old captain incharge PAed "due to technical problems no coffee/tea will be served in this flight...we regret.." and left me pondering:

Are coffee/tea made in toilets? How are they related?
Do coffee/tea come under any technical discipline?
Did the toilet engineers drink all the coffee/tea?
Was the coffee/tea maker out of order? If so will it be the Janitor who shall attend to it as a return favor?
Will I get a free beverage at the airport inlieu?

While I was searching for answers the flight landed at IGI airport in Daheli. Soon I was scrambling towards the same rear-end.......to EXIT ASAP and while I was at it, I saw the suggestion box very cleverly placed .................at the Rear End!!!!

Cardinal BottomLine: A change in logo cannot bring a change in service!

You talk about foul smell from rear end of the plane. Dont you know whether it is human or air plane, anything from the rear bound to be foul smell unless one is divine!
Human beings are different solely based on the choices they make. In yr case, while you wont touch anything coming from the "rear", how great that you will settle for a cup of "hot.." from the same "rear".

Comments just for fun from yr friend. Anyway not from "rear".

"Anyways engineers are not trained to be janitors"

But will eventually turn out to be after spending 3 years of training in a reputed engg college in the country. So the next time you hear an engineer complain, "I feel like a piece of shit", realize that she is actually saying the truth.

On an unrelated note - Flightplan is a movie starring Sean Bean as the Flight Captain. Heard that the DVD will be out soon. Thought I'd pass on the info to you.

First time you have touched a subject that has some semblance or resemblance to the name of ur blog. (Smells like.. ummm)

Secondly, (I am almost getting near the end of this ANAL-ysis)..

uhmm.., secondleh, Para 2 of your blog says

"On air there was a foul smell emanating from the rear end.."

The managing director of the national carrier has commissioned me to investigate whether the "rear end" in question was that of the blogger or the air-craft. As such, empirical data suggests loads of incriminating evidence against the former.

Do you go to barista or the neighborhood tea-shop bunker to treat yourelf to aviation? No. Then why do you expect coffee and tea to be served inside a flying machine?

Nevertheless, these are common issues faced with first time flyers.

The suggestion box is placed in the rear of the craft near the w.closets because that is the repository for turd and ordure.

Hi friend,
u haven't told us the airlines u had travelled. The fares are vary from Rs. 500 to 5000 for rajdhani. many are "duccans". anyway rear end is better than open end.

good luck next time.
