Okay, Crash was the only oscar nominated film I ever intended to watch this year. Its not important whether I support modern( read cliched) themes depicted in Brokeback mountain because I had enough of "pro-choice" potrayed in the Colin farell starring 2004 disaster "Alexander"..
Last night I got Crash DVD (finally!) and was hoping to have an oscar of a night. But midway thru the movie all I wanted to to do was to crash into my bed. "Boring" would be an understatement. I can't tolerate Matt dillon molesting Thandie Newton nor can I bear the sight of funnyman Brendan Fraser playing a DA! Total personality mismatch..Of course, in the end, you cannot stop feeling that when it comes to colour/racial discrimination, our society is much better off today compared to Uncle Sam's.
The tagline for the movie goes like this "You think you know who you are. You have no idea." I fully agree with the second part..I really have no idea why I bought this DVD! Movies like these get nominated because its much too vague and pointless for anybody's comprehension.
After all this I am eager to watch Brokeback Mountain ( So what?) and I dont feel sorry for myself. For fellow Johnny Depp Fans though there is good news: POTC -II trailer is here.
I hope one of you will return favours with the trailer of National Treasure II ( IF and ONLY IF there's Sean Bean in it)
Ps: BTW if you a true oo7 fan, join the world wide forum against the "Chosen One". Not only has this bloke abandoned the legendary JB tux in the new movie but also agreed to do a full frontal with the JB girl. Apparently this his only chance to give or take one..Eeeeuwww! I cant stand this guy after his watching him in "Munich". I can understand the desperate choices available from the the Island of the Queen. Really, good looking men with proper denture are hard to come by there!

Boring, you shay? I'll still check it out because the hype is unbelievable. Almost everyone whom I bump into asks me if I watched Crash. "much too vague and pointless for anybody's comprehension." Can't agree more. Some of the movies that I loved -"Shawshank Redemption", for one, never won an oscar.
"For fellow Johnny Depp Fans though there is good news" Will you believe me if I told you that I watched the trailer on the first day it was unleashed only for the sake of "Captain" Jack Sparrow. *sigh* I'm counting down to July already (and in the mean time watching "F. Neverland" for the umpteenth time). As for NT II, I'll pass it on, but can't guarentee on Sean Bean. It's a piTy he won't do a James Bond movie, the "through and through" BriT he is.
Talking about Brits are we?? Well, the Scots aren't far behind. And Trainspotting is the shite. Go watch it. That's the most amazing movie i've seen.
Someone told me Crash was better then Fight Club. I mean WTF!! No Oscar winner's ever gonna be better than Fight Club, you can be sure of that. Especially not one playing the racism card, too cliched... I'm not sure i wanna watch this movie, i'm almost afraid i'll like it.
Hugh Jackman is my choice anyday.
He was the original shortlist guy. They should stick to him.
Jackman ? Jackman, you shay ?!
I think you missed the big screen experience. Kiki, I think you should stil ctach it. I loved it! (You know how obvious I'm about sleeping (snoring) through movies!
Smaeg: "Will you believe me if I told you that I watched the trailer on the first day it was unleashed"...Am I suprprised ?
"can't guarentee on Sean Bean": He's got the blloddy role..
- Creep:
"And Trainspotting is the shite": Dint i get enough of that in your s(h)ite? Cant stack that much filth in my brain!
Santy: I knew uwere a victim of that ism when u were there
Arag: Shut your pie hole. No aussie can fill the place.
Crash is another one in those line of movies where the director thinks that showing events in a non-linear matter will keep the audience stuck to the screen. 21 grams was another such movie. Pulp Fiction and Memento were good though. Atleast the last two didn't really preach stuff. Crash is a watchable movie. But only once.
