"Seasons in the sun"

I thought that song had shot the Irish Boyband Westlife to fame ( and subsequent break-up) but was really amazed and purely thrilled to hear Kurt's version of the same song. The version circulating in the net is being claimed to be the one he performed live in Rio. He can convert a song of virtually any genre with grunge undertones with natural ease. I wish he could have done more such covers, although his albums Incesticide, Unplugged and Outcesticide(posthumus) had several of them.

The Outcesticide album was not released in India..Thats because the distributors of rock music have vague and limited knowledge of varied musical taste of Indian youth. There is too much of misconception about basic categorisation of Rock & Pop, leave alone metal, punk.. Ever since Indi Pop came to mainstream, it was curtains to Rock as we know it. Now music from across the border is more easily available than your favourite groups.Nirvana/PJ/AIC/Mudhoney/STP/Filter have such cult following amoung the Gen X/Y crowds..You have to see it to believe it.

The other day I approached a smart looking salesperson in one of the top music shops in Mumbai and asked whether theyve got Foo Fighter's latest album and he drew a complete blank. He asked me to spell the name of the band ( I lost my cool by then) and was smiling wryly while noting it( I lost my hope).

"what else could i write"...

In Kurdt's own words

"All Apologies" !!

You must be out of your senses to enquire about "phoo phighters" in a gujju case-ette shoap in charni road or the likes. You deserved the treatment you got. That is the price one pays for deriding the prestige of Foo F-s...

Those darned guys in fact pronounce the band name phoo phighters.. and ask for bon jovi.. they will search for bawnd joshi.

Buying rock in India ?!?!?! u must be out of your onions.

^^ ROTFL!!!!

And well, Get the new Boxed Set With The Lights Out by Nirvana... it is awesome... especially the dvd.... it includes a video of Nirvana playing Seasons In The Sun with Kurt on drums, Krist on guitar and Dave on bass.... studio recording in Rio \m/

plus awesome live performances and a 9 song rehearsal in Krist's house from 1988...

The outcesticide albums aren't available in India bcoz they're not official Nirvana releases.... they bootlegs.... but they ARE AWESOME.... great live versions of songs and rarities too... get the first five, they're the best....

The boxed set's available at music world, but the catch is that they're selling it for 6000.... i got mine from my massi in LA a month after it was released and it cost less than half of that...
